All the trips and activities are based from Alba House, other than items 8,9,10 and 11 below, which will involve staying over in one of our recommended/associated hotels or guest houses in Knysna or Plettenberg Bay.

DAY TOUR INCLUDING:

• Cape Peninsula, including Muizenberg Beach, world famous for surfing; Simons Town with its naval port and Victorian architecture.

• Boulders Beach with the penguin colony; Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Nature Reserve.

• Table Mountain on foot or by cable car; Kirstenbosch's world famous gardens; Hout Bay for  the seal colony; Chapmans Peak Drive for unforgettable views over the ocean; Waterfront and Cape Town's historic center.

• Cape Winelands scenic drives; visit and explore some of the most popular wine growing areas near Paarl, including Stellenbosch historic university town; the village of Franschhoek, Somerset West, Robertson and Worcester.

WINE TASTING

• Paarl is in the center of the Winelands wine district. Many great wine farms can be visited, from the famous, biggest farms, such as KWV, Neederburg, Boland, Rheebokskloof etc., to the smaller boutique farms, numerous to mention, such as Avondale and Domaine Brahms that produce excellent individual wines. We book, organize and host you on the regional wine tour. You can also enjoy a gourmet lunch or picnic on many of the venues. A wonderful way to enjoy a great day out.

• For the more adventurous enjoy a tour of a wine farm on horseback.

GOLF BOOKINGS:

• Enjoy 18 holes of golf on the country’s world-class standard golf courses. Due to the fantastic climate, you can play golf all year round. We are happy to make bookings for you and we are able to offer you special rates on for your playing fees

• At Alba House, we specialize in tailor made golf packages. We offer special rates for accommodation and golf playing fees. Please refer to our golf section on the website, or enquire with us.

POLO PLAYING FIELD AND ESTATE:

• Val de Vie Polo Estate situated in the Paarl Valley, 10 minutes drive from Alba House. Very impressive Club House with fantastic bar and restaurant. Exciting polo matches can be watched on the two playing fields here, unbelievable mountain drop scenery around.

WHALE, SEAL & DOLPHIN WATCHING CRUISES:

• Boat tours depart daily on an exhilarating trips to view Southern Right whales (June to December) including visiting the wonderful sea side town of Hermanus.

• From Hout Bay take a boat trip to view the Seal colony , other marine birds and possibly dolphins.

SHARK CAGE DIVING & VIEWING TOURS:

• Great White Shark diving is arranged along the coast of Cape Town or the Garden Route. There are qualified operators that run daily trips. A once in a lifetime experience.

 HOT AIR BALLOONING:

• Operated in the Cape Winelands, early morning experience, when the air is still. Picture yourself, as you hover gently above the valley, enjoying magnificent wrap-around views of the scenery around you.

GAME PARKS

Observe African wild animals roaming free in nature. Malaria free parks close to Alba House for day visits. Other larger parks on the Garden Route. We book tailor made trips for you at special rates. Guided and chauffeur driven tours.

ELEPHANT SANCTUARY ENCOUNTERS:

• A most exciting experience, you can touch, walk trunk-in-hand and feed these intelligent, gentle giants. Learn about them through “hands-on” interaction and enjoy a meeting with these lovely creatures in Knysna or Plettenberg Bay.

MONKEY AND BIRD SANCTUARY EXPERIENCE:

• Just outside Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route. Unforgettable close encounters in a giant cage enclosure with the animals and many species of exotic birds.

TSITSIKAMMA NATIONAL PARK AND STORMS RIVER MOUTH:

• A national park and costal reserve on the Garden Route. Drive the scenic route of Nature's Valley; visit the "Big Tree" and explore the Storms River Mouth including the famous gorge bridge.

FOREST CANOPY TOURS:

• Sliding along 30 m above the forest floor. Enjoy the unparalleled views, monkeys and bird life of the lush indigenous forest. Viewing platforms high up in the forest canopy allow you to stop, and take in the nature and views around you.

BUNGY JUMPING:

• Bloukraans Bungy. Situated just outside Plettenberg Bay, is in the Guinness World Book of Records as the highest bungee jump from a bridge in the world.

DINING:

• Paarl has some great restaurants; Franschhoek, the eating capital of the Western Cape, and Stellenbosch which also has many great eating houses are both 20 minutes from Alba House. Let us advise and book your table so you can enjoy the eating delights near by.

PAARL MOUNTAIN NATURE RESERVE:

• Walking and hiking in Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve starts just above Alba house. There are many paths and roads in the reserve.  Wonderful views to be enjoyed from the walk(or drive) to the Granite Rocks above town.

BUTTERFLY FARM:

• A unique chance to experience exotic and domestic species fly around you, as you visit this farm. There is also a gift shop and cafeteria. 10 minutes drive from Alba House.
